Agent Carter is a show that comes after the events of Captain America, the main character is Captain America’s love. In the short clip giving we see the struggles of carter working hard at a job which was at the time intended for males. The use Mise-en-scene, sound edits, master edits, and different shots helps show the viewers the how carter feels and how everyone else feels too.
Mise-en-scene is shown with the usage of lighting. The lighting is very low-key in the beginning , the lighting shows the after effect of the war. At night the lights are turned on, making you feel like something is about to happen. Something that plays a big role in the movie are the costumes of the characters in the film it helps the viewer have that sense of the early 1910s, and all of the employees in the S.H.I.EL.D are dress formally. Peggy Carter uses non-method acting and method acting throughout the movie and this style of acting helps develop the character even more. In the movie clip simultaneity, leitmotif, and parallelism, contrast are the masters edits used in the first five minutes of the clip.Parallelism is seen when we see changing shots of Carter and Steve when Peggy sits in an office and Steve is flying an aircraft risking his life.Leit Motif is used when sad music plays throughout Captain Americas death. The contrast is shown during the one year time difference.
During the clip most of the shots were eye level shots. when the man is on the phone and looks down at the piece of paper, we can see the paper directly from his shot and that is when the point of view shot is brought into the clip. The close shots in the clip was used when the characters where interacting with each other.
The clip starts off with a Nonsimultaneous sound with a radio call between the man and the jet and Carter.the characters dialogues are direct sound or diegetic sound throughout the whole clip,diegetic music is used throughout the entire clip,the clip uses film music to show emotions the clip is trying to convey. Some sounds used in the clip are to make the fight scene more entertaining and show off agent carter more.
The themes portrayed are established by mise-en-scene and the master edit primarily. The sounds and camera shots adds to the films emotions. The body shots shows how characters react. The sound is used to transition the different camera shots and camera shots. Agent Carter accurately tries to depict a woman trying her best to do a mans job in an era of time something like that was not usual.
