Agent Carter

Agent Carter is a show that comes after the events of Captain America, the main character  is Captain America’s love. In the short clip giving we see the struggles of carter working hard at a job which was at the time intended for males. The use Mise-en-scene, sound edits, master edits, and different shots helps show the viewers the how carter feels and how everyone else feels too.
Mise-en-scene is shown with the usage of lighting. The lighting is very low-key in the beginning , the lighting shows the after effect of the war. At night the lights are turned on, making you feel like something is about to happen. Something that plays a big role in the movie are the costumes of the characters in the film it helps the viewer have that sense of the early 1910s, and all of the employees in the S.H.I.EL.D are dress formally. Peggy Carter uses non-method acting and method acting throughout the movie and this style of acting helps develop the character even more.  In the movie clip simultaneity, leitmotif, and parallelism, contrast are the masters edits used in the first five minutes of the clip.Parallelism is seen when we see changing shots of Carter and Steve when Peggy sits in an office and Steve is flying an aircraft risking his life.Leit Motif is used when sad music plays throughout Captain Americas death. The contrast is shown during the one year time difference.
During the clip  most of the shots were eye level shots. when the man is on the phone and looks down at the piece of paper, we can see the paper directly from his shot and that is when the point of view shot is brought into the clip. The close shots in the clip was used when the characters where interacting with each other.
The clip starts off with a Nonsimultaneous sound with a radio call between the man and the jet and Carter.the characters dialogues are direct sound or diegetic sound throughout the whole clip, diegetic music is used throughout the entire clip, the clip uses film music to show emotions the clip is trying to convey. Some sounds used in the clip are to make the fight scene more entertaining and show off agent carter more.

The themes portrayed are established by mise-en-scene and the master edit primarily. The sounds and camera shots adds to the films emotions. The body shots shows how characters react. The sound is used to transition the different camera shots and camera shots. Agent Carter accurately tries to depict a woman trying her best to do a mans job in an era of time something like that was not usual.

300 word of the movie

                                Avengers Infinity Wars

I chose to do my work on this movie because it was literally one of marvels biggest showing this year, this movie was so hyped about and everyone was literally talking about the movie for almost a whole year. I also chose this movie because it was the third installment to the Avenger series.

The movie opens up with a low-key lighting with some of the major characters in space all the characters are fighting and automatically the lighting could tell you that one of the main characters either the hero or the villain is going to die. The first scene of the movie also has a Lowe setting, this describes the character Thor’s emotion when his brother Loki is killed during a fight with Thanos.

As the movie continues to the next scene, it shows Thanos and his crew advance into New York. One of the major scene of the movies is when Iron man is trying to get one of the henchman mad, he tries to summon the hulk and this whole shot is filmed in a shallow space because it only shows the members of the Avengers and Thanos henchmen talking, and the rest of the city is in a 2d shot basically.
The whole first part of the movie is filmed in a Frontality view because it is trying to show how the henchmen are reacting to what Tony stark is saying, this view is also shown because it is trying to show how scared Bruce is about everything going on, this scene also foreshadows that there is about to be a very big fight between the henchmen and the Avengers because no one else in the city is shown except for a few people running. The whole movie MERTZ of the movie is basically the heroes in technological fits because it helps advance the movie on how technological their world is

Sound effects for video

https://youtu.be/Vve295U63mU

Sound Bridge: During the titles, We added the The Twilight Zone theme song, leading up to the last shot, the Leit Motif. In most cases a Leit Motif is a music based shot, but in the way We used it, it was Maya’s sister repeatedly getting water and drinking it. The Twilight zone music added to the creepiness of the shot that was only kinda visible before.

Direct Sound: In our symbolism shot, We kept the direct sound of Maya’s sister saying she wants to travel the world, as well as the sound of her falling onto the bed. It exemplifies her emotion and stresses the fact that she wants travel.

Post Synchronization Dubbing: In our Parallelism shot, We added the sound of a missile dropping when the shot changes to a egg dropping and "exploding". It adds to the dramatic effect of the ball being thrown and changing to the egg dropping.

Music: In the first shot of the video, the contrast video, Maya added the sound of someone snoring to the part where I was doing work, showing that I thought it was boring. May then added a motivational screaming to the part where Kenneth is working out, showing that he is making sure he gets all the work in.

Week Seven film scenes.

This Avengers song is the true meaning of Leit Motif because in the whole series when ever the group comes together or there is about to be a big fight this song comes up and it excites the people watching the movies.

This scene in Thor is an example of Simultaneity because while Thor is getting crowned, the frost giants are busy breaking into Asgard and stealing the cube.

This scene of Ceaser growing up shows parallelism because it starts of as him as an infant monkey and the camera goes through his eyes to him as a 3 year old.

This contrast scene is of the great Gatsby when the main characters race from the rich part of town and crosses to the poor part almost immediately.

This scene from Infinity wars shows Thanos getting all the rings and this is symbolism because the whole series of the movie shows the heroes trying to get all the rings. The whole series is all revolved around this.

5 master shots edits!

https://youtu.be/io0gvAA0IRY

The first shot Maya and I filmed was the contrast shot. For this, Maya had me doing work on the computer, while at the same time, cutting to me running up and down the stairs. This represented contrast because it shows me doing work vs. what I would much rather be doing. In our next shot, symbolism, we used a fan and a globe. The symbolism is captured when Maya's sister Ruby says she wants to "travel the world", followed by a point of view angle looking up at the fan from her eyes, which then fades into the globe, symbolizing her wants to travel. To show parallelism, we decided to show a ball being thrown into the air, and just before hitting the ground, cutting the scene to an egg cracking and dropping into a pan. Next, for simultaneity, we show a jogger which is Maya's sister  and a dog walker. The scene cuts back and fourth, showing the two on their paths, eventually meeting in the middle. It reveals that they were walking and jogging at the same time. Leit Motif is what we shot last. We represented it with someone repetitively getting water, time after time, and setting them down, all with equal amounts of water left. The constant drinking of the water is what represented leit motif.

                                                          Movie Shots Narrative             Black Panther

Image result for black panther wide shot

The Extreme long shot of Wakanda was something that was very spectacular to the public, this long shot was what gained the medias interest in the movie because for a CGI created shot it looked very life like and it was almost like a living breathing location. This shot made you want to learn more about Wakanda, and this shot also establishes everything that the movie going to be about so it is very important to the whole movie.

This scene which was a close up shot in the movie scared everyone and almost broke everyone's heart because even tho you knew that the hero of the movie was still alive, you couldn't help but think that he was dead. This scene made everyone realize the seriousness of the villain killmonger. This scene was the climax of the movie and for it to start with a scene like this was seriously epic and I could even remember the audience at the movies all gasping.

This established shot of the tribes of Africa made this movie even deeper than it was supposed to be. This shot in the movie helped you understand the reason everyone was fighting in the movie, the shots also got you very hyped up for the next fight coming up and this was just a very beautiful scene alone.

This is arguably the most popular close up scene in the whole movie because the phrase "Wakanda for all" was said in this scene which made every one go nuts at the movies. This close shot of Tchala is so beautiful because it shows the details of his suit to a very high extent. The close up shot is also something that carries the load of the movie because this scene right here made everyone's heart jump with excitement and it made you really invest more of your time and focus into the movie and nothing else.

This close up shot of the two  panthers fighting was very interesting because it was criticized because of the poor CGI used for it. This scene when seen in real life almost looked like a cartoon which kind of made me very disappointing because it was the final fight of the movie and everything came down to this one scene. Even tho I was disappointing with this scene, it kind of made me very happy because it was colorful and very fast, and this scene also made your heart beat very fast and you could not keep your eyes off it.

What else can you say about this extreme long-shot scene of Wakanda, this scene made literally everyone that watched it cry, this scene was very beautiful and it captured the whole meaning of the movie in one shot. This scene summarized the hard work put into the whole movie because you and I know me felt at home when I saw the scene. This scene had the audience asking for more and it was at this moment that you knew this was going to be a box office hit.

People I picked

For the videos and the shots I choose to comment under Chris and Francisco's videos because they were one of the first few people that came to mind when I thought about looking at the videos. When I commented under Francisco's shots I said "Nice shots Francisco, my favorite shots out of all of them was they eye shot of Ryan, because it shows off so much details of everything going on in the video.". I also commented on Chris's videos saying "I liked you shots Chris and my favorite one was definitely the one of me frozen because i didn't even know i did that video. but good job with all the shots!". Both videos made and shot made me laugh so they made me happy when i watched them and that was why I like them the most out of everybody's video.

Why I'm taking

I'm taking this class because it is my senior year and I thought I would rather end up doing something fun, and finish off my high-school experience in an enjoyable way. This class is just a class where you get to have fun and be with friends and that's what I plan to do. At the end of the year I hope to feel like this class was worth my time and walkout happy with the rest of my class mates.
